That horrible moment when you realize Galvatron has never lived without being caused/in pain.

Like, seriously the moment he was created by Unicron he was trapped as his slave.
And Unicron as we know was liberal with agonizing direct attacks on Galvatrons mind when ‘misbehaved’ forcing him to obey his will and making him drop to the floor in pain.
Hell, he even tried to team up with Hot Rod AGAINST Unicron but the pain Unicron inflicted was severe enough to force him to change that.

THEN

He gets thrown into a pool of plasma which is stated in one episode to have seeped into his head and caused damage to his processor (aka brain/mind).
This causes the uncontrollable moments of rage and violence of which it wouldn’t be too wrong to assume Galvatron doesn’t have total control over.
Not to mention I doubt having a ‘brain’ that’s been damaged/screwed up by plasma is easy living conditions nor is it painless for him to experience such massive mood and energy swings.
Then the fandom treats him like shit too but oh well.

Just wow my heart, this was not a realization I wanted.

(Like literally fucking thank you. When I played G1 Galvs forever ago and when I play him here, as rare as that is, I try to do my best to bring some of that in. There is never a moment when Galvatron is not in pain, ranging from a dull ache to blinding agony.

And I’m sure being literally mind-raped by a planet did nothing to improve the situation….)

(My precious purple son deserves so much more. Even in IDW Galvs is pretty damn fucked up.)

(I mean, he was literally dead for millions of years, got pulled apart at the atomic level twice, and had an actual piece of the Anti-Universe inside him. Boy has some issues.)

I don’t even read IDW for various reasons and you nailed one in your tags (IDW stop messing with my faves I literally cannot look up by horned boy without wanting to retreat up my own rear end at what you did).

Just then the fandom…

I am so sad….

I mean I always go into fics featuring Galvy with a buttload of skepticism because I’m 90% sure he’s gonna fall into two common tropes I see of him.

So I had a spontaneous AU idea, hear me out…

In “Ghost in the Machine” Unicron, knowing that Starscream will betray him (because DUH) doublecrosses him and gives him the body of a teensy weensy Sparkling.
Upon discovering this Galvatron decides he has to adopt the tiny sweetheart, Cyclonus wasn’t fully on board but he was gradually convinced and now they raise their little screechy child.

Starscream is somewhat aware of his own predicament and plans on killing them and assuming control at the first opportunity only they’re putting a spanner in the works by being CARING and LOVING parents, ugh, stop making it harder to kill you!

Gotta draw this AU again at some point, just Babyscream announcing he’ll kill them both until Galvs bakes Ener-cookies and he decides he can live another week.
